With close to 150 attendees and renowned guest speakers, the 3rd AustCham Regional Forum got off to a great start. There was an air of anticipation as delegates started to arrive. Soon, the chatter over coffee, while registration was on the way, could be heard all the way down the hall - there was no need to ask where the Forum was being held!

Clement Chan, Chairman, AustCham Hong Kong & Macau was the Forum Host and opened up the event by welcoming every one. Delegates were delighted by the dancing dragons that made their way to the podium where Peter Yuile, CEO Austrade and Les Luck, Consul General Hong Kong, where waiting to unveil the special welcome messages being delivered by the dragons.

Clement Chan then introduced Richard Gibbs, Chief Economist & Head of Economics of Macquarie Group, who spoke on the theme of the Forum: Tigers, Elephants and Dragons - The Landscape Ahead

Richard's presentation was followed by a panel session on Consumer Trends for the 21st Century - India and China; and two concurrent breakout sessions: ASEAN and India. Lunch with acclaimed Futurist and Best Selling Author of Megatrends, John Naisbitt and his wife Doris followed. Two additional panel sessions were scheduled for the afternoon program. Andrew Steadson, Deputy Chairman, Austcham Hong Kong & Macau welcomed everyone on day two. The first Panel Session focused on Lessons from the Front Line … The Future of Business is Green. Two concurrent breakout sessions followed: Greater China and Japan/Korea.
